Description

NGC 2841 is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Major. It is located around 45 milions light years from us. It was the target for a first light of my new 100 mm refractor. Again it was difficult to me to preserve all these tiny background galaxies with BlurXTerminator.
When I checked some of these background galaxies of what I sought to be a galaxy cluster in the South of NGC2841 with my favorite sky atlas  https://aladin.cds.unistra.fr/  I was surprised that these galaxies are not only not connected but some of them really far away from us. This can be easily understood by the redshift z values in the database. Please look at the zoom picture (version B) : Galaxy 1 : z = 0.0269, Galaxy 2 : z = 0.06845 and Galaxy 3 : z = 0.14319. For the later a quick approximate calculation gives more than 2 billions light-years (!). Quite amazing what you can capture with a 4 inch scope in a few hours under quite poor sky conditions (humidity and moon).
Also surprising to me : this galaxy is often shown much more yellow than in my picture although I used the new SPCC tool in Pxinsight ?

Enjoy and critics welcome,

Andreas
